by walters

I walked in to work this morning to find a bottle of wine, a card and a fridge full of my favourite flap jack. It’s a present from a member of staff as a thank you for all our help over the past couple of years. She is starting a new job today and we would like to wish her all the best for the future. We are always here if you need us.Good luck.

These are the images our blog should have updated two days ago. It’s for a two storey timber framed, swimming pool within the curtilage of a listed building. Planning is difficult even though we can prove a similar size structure previously existed on the site.

Listed Farm House in Leicestershire

These are images of a building we are working on which involves the conversion of an existing barn which isn’t listed but is within the curtilage of a Grade II* listed Georgian farmhouse. The client is really open minded toward our suggestions and the scheme is progressing nicely. We would love to see it built because this is the type of work we really enjoy – conversions and works to listed buildings.

Listed Building/Conservation Area

On
by walters

This morning we made some small amendments to a set of planning drawings and this afternoon we have submitted an application for ‘Listed Building Consent’ associated with the same building. The house is also within the Charnwood’s Conservation area of Swithland. Walters Architects like to work on listed buildings within Conservation areas, we have had some very good results. we will soon be making a planning application for a two storey extension to the rear of the property.

We have visited two different sites today, a dwelling within a conservation area in Leicester and a domestic extension in Loughborough, and we will be visiting a further two tomorrow. Tomorrows visit includes a refurbishment of 4 houses and the proposed extension to a bathroom/kitchen showroom – great work.
