The old Lizard Lounge Nightclub in Leicester (or Superfly or XY depending on your age) has been recently converted into high end apartments following the trend of other examples such as the Hacienda in Manchester. Whilst the Leicester club was arguable less successful  the its Mancunian counterpart I think we can all agree the conversion of our building is much prettier.

The out side of our building is having some work done. In a building such as ours it pays to keep on top of things.

LK 01 LK 03 LK 05 LK 04We have Walters Architects have amended a design for a house refurbishment following comments back from the planners and whilst the drawings and visuals look good we were just a little uncertain about how the scheme was coming together.

You can produce a million drawings (2d or 3d) but sometimes the best way to understand a form is to make a model. This sketch model has highlighted the issues and they are now being addressed.

we hope the client likes the changes.

We took an early morning visit to this site today in Markfield, Leicestershire. The development is for a private developer/builder who lives in the same village and he’s had his eye on this place for a while.

The scheme is a small new build site for 3 houses over 2.5 stories and good progress is being made.

These builders we work with a lot and know very well. They always produces the goods and most of their projects go without incident.

Clean and tidy site, well organised/informed office staff and top tradesman. A very enjoyable company to work with on a nice project in a lovely location. More of these please.

After visiting one of our new sites in Leicester yesterday we have since been informed the client is not fixed on their original brief and would simply like to maximize the site. This is a great result for us because we feel we can achieve a lot more than 2 replacement commercial units.

Open minded, flexible clients are so hard to find so we are delighted to have been given some freedom on this one.

Lets hope our feasibility study throws out some interesting ideas.
