Walters Architects held their fourth curry night last night and it was another great success. The attendees included interior designers, quantity surveyors, project managers and planning solicitors. It was another good chance to reinforce some great relationships and nurture some new ones. The next event should be in December, we will keep you posted…
Walters Architects arrange a bi monthly curry night which brings people in the construction industry together for an informal evening to discuss all aspects of their professions with the possibility of new introductions. Tonight’s curry is at Mem-Saab, Highcross, Leicester. If anybody working within construction, is known to Walters Architects and would like to come along please give Kevin a call at the office for details.
We have nearly finished the planning drawings for the farm conversion we are working on. The project involves a farm house refurbishment, barn conversion, stable conversion and cottage extension. The planners have asked for a sensitive design similar to listed building works and the outcome is exciting. Should be complete for early next week and then we will prepare some 3D work. the client is pleased.
We have now finished the proposal for a new swimming pool extension at a barn conversion within the curtilage of a listed building in Rutland. It was a long drawn out process as the planners were recommending the proposal for refusal. After discussions with planning and heritage consultants and a small redesign the scheme is now being recommended for approval under delegated powers. Walters Architects only became involved when the client had an issue with the planners. We are becoming quite successful at working with buildings which are listed or in conservations areas and we enjoy the work.
We have been turning work down lately because we are unable to cope with new projects and wouldn’t want to let anyone down. However, a new client has approached us because they are familiar with a couple of our projects and really wants to work with us. I’m really looking forward to meeting them tomorrow. wish us luck.
