Walters Architects have a client who are converting their existing garage into a granny annex and doing all (or most) of the construction works themselves. We have assisted in the Planning Permission and Building Control Application but the client has taken the responsibility for everything else.
We can’t tell you how impressed we are at their determination, ability and skill being demonstrated by the first time new builders.
Take a look at their blog (also very impressive) and be inspired.
Walters Architects would just like to wish them continued success and hope the rest of the build goes as well as the initial stages. Good luck guys, brilliant stuff.
Walters Architects have just finished an interior for an old Well House in Leicestershire. We have reinstated the old well wheel and and stripped all the walls backed to brick. We’ve incorporated a couple of contemporary elements including a new ‘secret’ storage unit and a ‘secret’ paneled door to the out buildings. The clients are really happy and so are we.
Walters Architects are working on another small timber framed kitchen/dining extension. It will be similar to the one attached (remember it from 2011?) but this time the corner doors will be replaced with a more conventional bi-fold. We are incorporating yet another (we love them) frameless roof light as well . We like timber frame/clad buildings, next time we want to go BIG!
Walters Architects are working on yet another stable block only this time we are including a Menage. The practice has been involved in a few equestrian buildings now and are really enjoying it. This particular project will be in two phases and will include a hay store, general store and a tack room. Cant wait to get started.
