I have a new phone and it’s brilliant. I’m able to have a subject page constantly open which automatically up dates news on things like design. If I like an article I can share it on Twitter and Facebook. All I need to know now is if I can blog from it. Remember, good design will always save the day and watch this space for some fancy blogging.

It now looks as though this project is going ahead. Good client with big ideas, we are looking forward to this one.

New Modern Single Storey Extension

Bookmark and Share

We have recently completed another modern extension for a new client in Woodhouse Eaves, Leicestershire. The scheme is within a conservation area and was designed to be in total contrast to the existing workers cottages.

We are delighted with the proposal which was mainly driven by a good design conscious client.

Walters Architects would like to welcome Paul Scrine to the practice as our new apprentice. Paul has just completed his first week and looks very promising. He is really keen and cant wait to get his teeth into a live project. Good luck Paul and welcome aboard.

Richard Rogers

There was a great television program about the British Architect Richard Rogers on BBC1 last night. The ‘Imagine’ documentary featured the architect in light of his current ‘Inside Out’ exhibition at the RA. I absolutely love his work and cant help but be inspired by his energy at 80. I need to get to the RA before the 13th October.

Walters Architects have started work for a new client (Vista – improving lives of people with sight loss) and they have already given us three projects and have asked us to quote for a fourth. We cant wait to get going.

New Planning application

Walters Architects are about to submit a planning application for 3 new build terrace houses to be built in the centre of Leicester on a very restrictive site for the private rental market. The scheme has been interesting to work on as the site was so tight. Both the client and the planners seem happy thus far.
