There was a great television program about the British Architect Richard Rogers on BBC1 last night. The ‘Imagine’ documentary featured the architect in light of his current ‘Inside Out’ exhibition at the RA. I absolutely love his work and cant help but be inspired by his energy at 80. I need to get to the RA before the 13th October.
Walters Architects are about to submit a planning application for 3 new build terrace houses to be built in the centre of Leicester on a very restrictive site for the private rental market. The scheme has been interesting to work on as the site was so tight. Both the client and the planners seem happy thus far.
If you’re thinking about having one of those ‘uber cool’ extensions to your house in the near future (might be next year) have a look at these additions of ‘Grand Designs’ & ‘Living Etc’ magazines. They have great articles about design, the process, budgets and even recommended architects. I thought the articles were great.
Walters Architects have just completed a detailed planning application for a residential scheme incorporating 22 houses (including 8 social houses) for a private client in north Leicestershire.
The proposal took a long time to prepare because the application was so detailed and we wanted to give our client the best possible chance of gaining planning approval.
The scheme is on a contentious site and there is a strong possibility that the proposal will go to appeal. We believe this sort of scheme is beneficial to the national housing shortage and will enhance the area immensely.
Our client has been professional, accommodating and a pleasure to work with, we only hope the scheme is approved first time.
