Walters Architects have been involved in a number of equestrian and agricultural projects and we enjoy the challenge of specific client requirements against the challenges of the locations they are set in.
This particular stable block was for a private client near Uppingham which included five individual stables, a tack room and solarium, all set around an internal court yard close to the client’s home.
The pallet of building materials used on this scheme is of high quality and was designed to match the existing house so the stable felt an integrated part of the site. The walls are constructed of high density block work (for strength) which is rendered externally but finished in a highly durable paint on the internals to allow easy cleaning. The roof tiles match the existing house and the timber cladding gives a sense of a rural building.
The scheme was passed first time at planning with no compromise to the client’s requirements.
Walters Architects have built up a solid working relationship with the client based on the work at their home and continue to work with them on a variety of projects.
